Sportrition = Erica Stephens (Accredited Sports Dietitian)

Sportrition was founded with the vision of providing effective and scientifically backed nutrition advice for individuals and groups in order to improve their health, performance and/or physique.


Erica Stephens (BAppSc, MNutrDiet, IOC Dip Sport Nutr) is the Accredited Sports Dietitian behind Sportrition. Erica earned her Bachelor degree in Applied Science (Food Science and Nutrition) from the University of Queensland and completed her Master of Nutrition and Dietetics at Griffith University. She then went on to complete the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Diploma in Sports Nutrition – a world renowned program accepting only 40 students a year.

Professional registrations: 

Erica is an Accredited Sports Dietitian, an Accredited Practising Dietitian, and an Accredited Level 1 Anthropometrist. Erica is a member of Sports Dietitians Australia (SDA) and the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA).

Background in sport: 

She has had extensive experience as an athlete, representing Australia in the sport of taekwondo and earning a spot on the Olympic Shadow Team for the 2004 Olympics. Erica also represented the ACT in soccer and baseball.


As a result of Erica’s background in the sport of taekwondo, she has compiled a Nutrition for Taekwondo eBook, available here. In addition, she has created a Karate Nutrition eBook, available here.

Professional development:

Erica attends the most renowned international sports nutrition conferences each year, such as the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), to bring you the latest and most effective means for achieving your goals. Erica’s Masters research was accepted for a poster presentation at the European College of Sports Science Conference (ECSS) in 2011, in Liverpool, UK.

Who is Erica working with?

At present, Erica is working with the AIS Centre of Excellence Women’s boxing high performance program, through to Tokyo 2020. She also works with national & international level athletes from the sports of taekwondo, muay thai, mountain biking and swimming. She works with recreational and sub-elite athletes from all sports. She speaks on various sports nutrition topics within sporting clubs and schools from across Australia.

Erica will work with you, or with your team or school group to educate and create an optimal nutrition plan for ongoing health, sporting performance, or a physique related goal.
